Find the right tread for your terrain
-
MA Profile - maximum stability on hard ground
Choose Your SizeEngineered for stability, the MA profile keeps smaller excavators planted on concrete, packed gravel and rocky surfaces. Its tighter tread pattern suits Komatsu’s more compact minis — think PC18, PC26, PC30 and PC35MR-class machines — working in tight, uneven or hard-ground conditions. Available in roughly 230 to 300 mm widths.
-
MB Profile - versatile, deep-lug all-rounder
Choose Your SizeThe MB profile’s deep-lug tread is the go-to for machines that move between road and off-road work - biting into soft ground while standing up to harder surfaces. It fits Komatsu’s larger compact excavators such as the PC45, PC50, PC55MR and PC78US, in sizes from about 300 up to 450 mm.

Find Your Size & Tread
The single most important thing when buying rubber tracks is getting the size right. Here are two easy ways to be sure.
Every rubber track has three numbers, usually written as Width × Pitch × Number of links - for example, 300 × 52.5 × 80:
- Width - how wide the track is, in millimetres (e.g. 300 mm).
- Pitch - the distance between the centre of one drive link and the next (e.g. 52.5 mm).
- Links - the total number of drive links around the track (e.g. 80).
You’ll often find these numbers stamped or moulded on the inside face of your current track. If they’ve worn away, you can measure the width with a tape, count the links, and check the pitch - or just give us your Komatsu model and serial number and we’ll confirm it for you.
Popular Komatsu track sizes
| Komatsu model | Typical track size |

| PC09 | 180 × 72 × 37 |
| PC18MR | 230 × 48 × 66 (verify by serial) |
| PC26 / PC30 | 300 × 52.5 × 74–80 (verify by serial) |
| PC35MR | 300 × 52.5 × 80 |
| PC45 / PC50 | 400 × 72.5 × 72–74 (verify by serial) |

Komatsu Machines We Keep Rolling
-
Mini Excavators (PC09–PC35MR)
Machines like the PC18, PC26, PC30 and PC35MR spend their lives on tight, uneven ground where a worn track means lost grip and slower work. Fresh NOVA tracks restore the bite you need to work confidently on slopes and around obstacles.
-
Compact Excavators (PC45–PC78US)
The PC45, PC50, PC55MR and PC78US earn their keep on demanding sites. If you’re seeing cracks between the lugs, exposed steel, or a track that keeps coming off, it’s time to replace - and we’ll have the right size ready to ship.
Installing your Komatsu track & how long tracks last
Replacing a rubber track on a Komatsu mini excavator is a job many operators do themselves with basic tools. Here’s the short version:
- Relieve the tension. Loosen the grease fitting on the track adjuster to release pressure on the idler (go slowly - the grease is under pressure).
- Roll off the old track. With the machine safely raised and supported, push the idler back and work the old track off the sprocket and idler.
- Fit the new track. Loop the new NOVA track over the sprocket and idler, making sure the drive lugs seat correctly.
- Re-tension. Pump grease back into the adjuster to set the correct tension to Komatsu’s spec - not too tight, not too loose.
- Check it. Rotate the track, confirm alignment and tension, and you’re back to work.
Not comfortable doing it yourself? Any equipment shop can handle it - and we’re happy to talk you through it first.
How long do Komatsu rubber tracks last?
With normal use and good maintenance, a quality rubber track typically lasts around 1,200 to 2,000+ hours, depending on your ground conditions, how the machine is operated, and track tension. Replace your track when you notice:
- Cracking between or at the base of the lugs.
- Exposed steel cords showing through the rubber.
- Chunked or rounded lugs that have lost their grip.
- Repeated detracking - the track coming off more often than it should.
- Deep cuts or gouges from rebar, rock or debris.
Catching wear early protects your undercarriage and keeps your machine safe and stable. Not sure if yours is done? Send us a photo or give us a call - we’ll give you an honest read.

FAQs
How do I know which rubber track fits my Komatsu?
The surest way is to match your Komatsu model and serial number to the correct track size. Use our track finder, check the numbers stamped on your current track (Width × Pitch × Links), or call us at 1-855-640-1861 and we’ll confirm the exact fit.
What size track does a Komatsu PC35MR (or PC55MR) use?
A PC35MR typically runs a 300 × 52.5 × 80 track, and a PC55MR typically runs a 400 × 72.5 × 74 - but sizes can vary by serial number and undercarriage, so confirm yours with the finder or our team before ordering.
Which tread profile should I choose?
For Komatsu excavators there are two profiles: the MA profile, engineered for stability on hard, rocky ground and best suited to smaller machines; and the deep-lug MB profile, the versatile choice for larger compacts that work both on and off road. The finder or our team will confirm which is available for your model.
Are NOVA rubber tracks as good as Komatsu OEM tracks?
Yes. NOVA tracks are engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications, with forged steel cores and a durable rubber compound built for real work - backed by a 24-month warranty, typically at a lower price than OEM.
How do I install a rubber track on my Komatsu mini excavator?
In short: relieve the tension at the grease fitting, roll the old track off the idler and sprocket, fit the new track, re-tension to Komatsu’s spec, and check it. Many operators do it themselves; if you’d rather not, any equipment shop can help - and we’ll walk you through it first.
What does the 24-month warranty cover?
Every NOVA track is covered by a 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects. You can review the full NOVA Warranty Policy on our site, or call us and we’ll walk you through it.
How long do Komatsu rubber tracks last?
Most quality rubber tracks last around 1,200 to 2,000+ hours, depending on terrain, how the machine is used, and track tension. Abrasive surfaces and sharp turning wear tracks faster.
How much does shipping cost and how fast will I get my tracks?
Shipping is free to major cities and depots across Canada. Order online or by phone and we’ll get your tracks moving quickly - contact us for current delivery timelines to your area.
What if I order the wrong size?
Reach out and we’ll make it right. The easiest way to avoid it is to confirm your model and serial with us before you order - that’s what our team is here for.
