Skid steer or track loader? Get the right Bobcat tracks

Here's the thing most people don't realize when they search for "Bobcat skid steer tracks": the machine you're picturing is probably a Bobcat compact track loader, not a true skid steer. The difference decides which tracks you need.

Bobcat Compact Track Loaders (T-series) - T590, T595, T650, T740, T770, T870 and the rest - ride on full rubber tracks. This is what most people mean by "skid steer tracks," and it's what this page is built around. Find yours in the table below.

Bobcat Mini Track Loaders (MT-series) - MT55, MT85, MT100 - also run on dedicated rubber tracks, just smaller. They're in the table too.

Bobcat Skid Steer Loaders (S-series) - S570, S650, S770 and friends - actually run on tires. They don't take rubber tracks, but you can add over-the-tire (OTT) tracks for extra flotation and grip. ⟨If you carry OTT tracks, link here⟩ - otherwise: give us a call and we'll point you the right way.

Quick rule: If your machine came from the factory on tracks, you're in the right place - keep scrolling. If it came on tires, you're looking for over-the-tire tracks.

  • BZ Profile - snow, mud & soft ground

Deep, aggressive lugs that bite into packed snow, mud and loose dirt. If you're running through Canadian winters or on soft, wet job sites, this is your profile. Popular on CTLs like the T590, T650, T770 and T870.

  • BL Profile - concrete, gravel & mixed surfaces

A balanced, multi-bar tread built for machines that move between the yard, the road and the job site. Strong grip on gravel and wet sand without beating up harder surfaces. A versatile all-rounder for most T-series loaders.

    Choose Your Size
  • C Block Profile - hard, packed & abrasive surfaces

A dense, block-pattern tread that spreads load and resists wear on concrete, asphalt and hard-packed ground. The right call if you spend most of your hours on unforgiving surfaces. Common on T590/T595-class machines.

How to find your Bobcat track size

You don't need the manual. Your current track already tells you what you need:

  1. Find the stamp. Look on the inside face of your existing rubber track for a set of numbers like 320x86x49. That's your size.
  2. Read the three numbers - they're always width × pitch × links:
  • Width (e.g. 320) - how wide the track is, in millimetres.
  • Pitch (e.g. 86) - the distance between the track links, in millimetres.
  • Links (e.g. 49) - the number of drive lugs around the track.
  1. Worn off or unreadable? No problem. Count the links yourself, measure the width across the track, and send us your machine model and serial number - we'll confirm the exact size for you.

Getting all three numbers right guarantees a track that fits your undercarriage and drive system perfectly - no slipping, no premature wear.

When to replace your Bobcat tracks

Worn tracks quietly cost you traction, stability and fuel before they ever fail outright. Replace them when you see:

  • Cracking or dry rot in the rubber, especially between the lugs
  • Chunking or missing lugs - lost tread means lost grip and flotation
  • Exposed steel cords or cables - the internal reinforcement showing through is a stop-now warning
  • Worn drive lugs (the guide teeth on the inside) - rounded or cracked lugs cause detracking
  • Noticeably worse traction or a rougher ride - the machine tells you before the track does

Running tracks past this point risks damaging your rollers, idlers and sprockets - a far more expensive repair than a fresh set of tracks.

How long do Bobcat tracks last, and what do they cost?

Lifespan. A quality rubber track typically lasts somewhere between 1,200 and 2,000+ hours, but the real number depends on how and where you run the machine. Abrasive surfaces (concrete, gravel), tight turns, over- or under-tensioned tracks, and hard use all shorten track life; correct tension and softer ground extend it. Rotating and maintaining your tracks pays off directly in hours.

Cost. Replacement Bobcat tracks generally run from a few hundred dollars for smaller mini-loader tracks up to roughly $700–$1,900 CAD per track for larger compact track loaders, depending on size and tread. Because we sell factory-direct with free Canada-wide shipping, you see the real price on every product page - no dealer markup, no surprise freight.

Frequently asked questions

Do Bobcat skid steers use rubber tracks?

Bobcat's tracked machines - Compact Track Loaders (T-series) and Mini Track Loaders (MT-series) - run on full rubber tracks. Bobcat's true skid steer loaders (S-series) run on tires and can use over-the-tire (OTT) tracks instead. If your machine came from the factory on tracks, you need replacement rubber tracks like the ones on this page.

What size tracks does my Bobcat need?

Every model has a specific size written as width × pitch × links (e.g. 320 × 86 × 49). Check the stamp on your current track, or find your model in the size table above. Not sure? Send us your model and serial number and we'll confirm it.

How much do Bobcat tracks cost?

Depending on the machine size and tread, replacement tracks generally range from a few hundred dollars for mini loaders up to roughly $700–$1,900 CAD per track for larger compact track loaders. Every price is listed on the product page, with free shipping across Canada.

How long do Bobcat tracks last?

Most quality rubber tracks last between 1,200 and 2,000+ hours. Terrain, track tension, turning habits and maintenance all move that number up or down.

How do I know when to replace them?

Look for cracking, chunked or missing lugs, exposed steel cords, or worn drive lugs - plus any drop in traction or stability. Replacing worn tracks early protects your rollers, idlers and sprockets.

Are aftermarket tracks as good as OEM Bobcat tracks?

Ours are built to OEM fit and specification with forged steel cores and continuous steel-cord reinforcement, and backed by a 24-month warranty - so you get comparable performance and fit without the dealer price.

Which tread should I choose?

BZ for snow, mud and soft ground; BL for concrete, gravel and mixed surfaces; C Block for hard, packed and abrasive ground. See "Find the right tread for your terrain" above for model-by-model guidance.

Do you ship to my part of Canada?

Yes - free shipping to every major city and shipping-depot location across Canada.

What's covered by the warranty?

A 24-month NOVA warranty: 12 months full coverage and 12 months pro-rated.
