Skid Steer Rubber Tracks

If you're searching for "skid steer tracks," you already know the problem: your machine is down, your dealer wants a small fortune and a two-week wait, and every U.S. website you've found adds border fees and exchange-rate pain on top of the freight. Canadian Rubber Tracks fixes all three. We stock replacement rubber tracks in our Surrey, BC warehouse for every major brand of tracked skid steer working in Canada - Bobcat, Caterpillar, Kubota, John Deere, Case, New Holland, Takeuchi, Gehl, and more - at 30-50% below dealer pricing, backed by a 24-month warranty.

Quick note on terminology, because the equipment industry doesn't make this easy: a "skid steer with tracks" is technically called a compact track loader (CTL). Same body, same attachments, same controls - but a dedicated rubber-track undercarriage instead of wheels. Most people just call them skid steers, and that's what this page covers: the dedicated rubber tracks that fit machines like the Bobcat T650, Cat 259D, Kubota SVL75, and John Deere 333G. (Got a wheeled skid steer and want over-the-tire tracks? See the FAQ below.)

Every track we sell is built to OEM-equivalent specifications - same width, pitch, and link count as factory - with continuous steel cord construction, hardened steel embeds, and a rubber compound formulated for Canadian job sites. Find your brand below, then pick the tread profile that matches your work.

  • Already in Canada - no import duties, no exchange-rate shock, no border delays.

Most aftermarket skid steer tracks online ship from U.S. warehouses. Add cross-border freight, customs brokerage, GST/HST at the border, and the CAD-to-USD exchange, and that "deal" runs 25-40% over sticker. We stock in Surrey, BC - the price you see is the price you pay, in Canadian dollars.

  • One supplier for every brand in your fleet.

Tracks are sized by width × pitch × link count, not by brand - which means many sizes cross over between makes. A 450×86×55 fits certain Bobcat, Case, and New Holland machines alike. Run a mixed fleet? We'll match every machine in it from one warehouse, in one order.

  • OEM-equivalent build quality at a fraction of the dealer price.

Equipment makers don't manufacture their own rubber tracks - they source them from rubber track plants and put their name on them. Our NOVA-brand tracks are built to the same fitment specs using continuous steel cord construction and wear-resistant compounds. Same fit, same wear, smaller invoice.

  • 24-month warranty (12 months full replacement + 12 months prorated).

Defects in materials or workmanship in the first 12 months get an outright replacement; months 13-24 are prorated. Most dealer tracks carry 6-12 months - we double it.

  • Built for Canadian conditions.

Frozen ground, freeze-thaw cycles, abrasive gravel, wet clay, snow. Our rubber compound stays flexible in the cold and resists the cracking and chunking that kills cheaper tracks in a Canadian winter.

Gehl & Mustang Skid Steer Tracks

We can source tracks for most Gehl RT-Series and Mustang MTL machines. Send us your model and serial number for a quote.

A note on ASV and Terex Posi-Track machines

ASV and Terex PT/RT machines use a unique rubber-suspended undercarriage with a wider, lighter track that is not interchangeable with standard steel-embedded CTL tracks. If you run an ASV or Terex, contact us before ordering - fitment is machine-specific.

  • C Block Tread Profile

The classic block pattern - closest to the factory tread on most CTL brands and the best all-around choice for mixed-surface work. Wide rubber blocks deliver a smooth, low-vibration ride on concrete, asphalt, and packed gravel while still handling dirt and soft ground. Typically the longest service life of the three on mixed surfaces.

Best for: landscapers, hardscape contractors, anyone working on customer driveways, finished grade, or concrete pads.

  • BZ Tread Profile

The most versatile profile in the NOVA lineup - purpose-built for compact track loaders and engineered for concrete, gravel, dirt, sand, mud, snow, and turf. Z-pattern lugs bite into soft ground and self-clean better than block treads, while staying gentle on hard surfaces.

Best for: year-round operators, Canadian winters, site-prep contractors, anyone whose work changes weekly.

  • BL Tread Profile

The heavy-duty profile - for operators who push their machines hard across the full range of surfaces. The block-lug design gives more aggressive traction than the C Block while keeping a solid contact patch on hard ground.

Best for: general contractors, excavation crews, mixed commercial and residential work, high-hour operators.

How to Find Your Skid Steer Track Size

Skid steer tracks are sized in a three-number format: width × pitch × link count. A 450×86×56 track is 450 mm wide, has an 86 mm pitch (centre-to-centre distance between steel links), and has 56 links total. Nearly every dedicated CTL on the market runs an 86 mm pitch - it's the width and link count that change between machines.

Three places to find your size:

  1. On the existing track. Most tracks have the size moulded into the rubber on the inside face. Pressure-wash it and look near the steel embeds.
  2. In your operator's manual. Every manufacturer lists the OEM track size in the specifications section.
  3. By model number. The standard size is fixed for each model - use the brand lists above, or send us your model and serial number.

Two things to watch: some brands add a guide-lug letter to the size (e.g., 320×86B×52 vs 320×86C×52) - the guide style must match your rollers. And if your machine came used or was retrofitted with wide tracks, the size on the machine may differ from factory spec. When in doubt, send us a photo of the inside of your track and we'll confirm before you order.

Are Skid Steer Tracks Interchangeable Between Brands?

Sometimes - and it can save you money to know when. Tracks fit by dimensions and guide style, not by the name on the loader. A few examples: the Case TR270/TR310 and New Holland C227 share the 320×86×50 size; the Kubota SVL95-2s, SVL97-2, and John Deere 331G/333G all run 450×86×58; several Bobcat, Case, and New Holland machines share 450×86×55 fitments.

That said, matching three numbers isn't always enough - guide-lug style, embed shape, and sprocket engagement need to match too. We verify every cross-brand fitment before shipping, so if you're not sure, just tell us the machine. That's the advantage of buying from a track specialist instead of a marketplace listing.

Aftermarket vs. OEM Skid Steer Tracks - What's Actually Different?

"Aftermarket" doesn't mean lower quality - as long as the track is built to OEM specifications. No major equipment maker manufactures its own rubber tracks. Bobcat, Cat, Kubota, Deere, and Case all source tracks from rubber track manufacturers - in many cases the same plants that supply the aftermarket - and brand them. At the dealer, you're paying for the logo, the dealer markup, and dealer overhead, not better rubber.

Our NOVA-brand tracks use the same fitment dimensions, continuous steel cord construction (not chopped cord), hardened steel embeds, and comparable rubber compounds. They install identically, run on the same rollers and sprockets, and wear comparably. The differences you'll notice: the price (30-50% less than dealer) and the warranty (24 months vs the typical 6-12).

How Much Do Skid Steer Tracks Cost?

Dealer pricing for a single OEM track commonly runs $2,000-$3,500+ CAD depending on size - $4,000-$7,000 for a pair, before freight. Our NOVA replacement tracks typically run 30-50% less, in Canadian dollars, with no border fees. Price depends on three things: track width (a 450 mm track uses more rubber and steel than a 320 mm), link count, and tread profile. Use the fitment selector above for an exact price on your machine - what you see at checkout is what you pay.

Shipping Skid Steer Tracks Across Canada

CTL tracks are heavy - 250-300 lb each for the larger sizes - which is why importing from the U.S. gets expensive fast. Cross-border freight on a pair can run $400-$700 before brokerage and duties.

We ship from Surrey, BC through a Canadian logistics partner to every province and territory. BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba typically see 2-4 business days; Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes 4-7. Free shipping to any major Canadian city - and if you're not in one, we ship free to shipping depot locations. Lower Mainland customers can arrange warehouse pickup. Order before our daily cutoff and most tracks ship same or next business day.

Our 24-Month Warranty on Skid Steer Tracks

Every track we sell is backed by a 24-month warranty: 12 months of full replacement coverage plus 12 months prorated. A manufacturing defect in the first year gets an outright replacement; months 13-24 are covered on a prorated basis.

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It doesn't cover damage from improper installation, running with damaged rollers/sprockets, debris cuts, or de-tracking - standard exclusions on every track, OEM included. It's one of the longest aftermarket track warranties in North America.

Frequently Asked Questions About Skid Steer Tracks

What's the difference between a skid steer and a compact track loader?

A skid steer runs on wheels; a compact track loader (CTL) runs on dedicated rubber tracks. Same cab, same attachments, same controls. The industry uses "skid steer tracks" loosely to mean CTL rubber tracks - which is what this page covers. CTLs have largely replaced wheeled skid steers on Canadian job sites because tracks deliver better flotation on soft ground, more pushing power, and less surface damage.

Can I put tracks on a wheeled skid steer?

Yes - via over-the-tire (OTT) tracks, which wrap around the existing wheels. They're a different product from the dedicated rubber tracks on this page and we don't stock them as standard inventory. If you're considering OTT tracks, contact us - in many cases the math favours selling the wheeled machine and moving to a CTL, and we're happy to talk it through.

How long do skid steer tracks last?

Most operators get 1,200 to 2,000 hours from a set. Landscapers on turf and finished grade can stretch past 2,500; demolition and rocky-ground work can drop below 800. The biggest factors: surface type, operator habits (sharp counter-rotations chew tracks), correct tension, and a clean undercarriage.

Are tracks from one brand interchangeable with another?

Often, when the width × pitch × link count and the guide-lug style all match - several Bobcat, Case, New Holland, Kubota, and Deere sizes cross over. But don't order on the three numbers alone; guide style and embed shape matter. Send us both machines' details and we'll confirm.

When should I replace my skid steer tracks?

Replace when you see: lugs worn below roughly 50% with traction noticeably dropping, exposed or rusting steel cords, cracks connecting between lugs, repeated de-tracking despite correct tension, or chunked-out tread sections. A worn track that fails on a job costs far more than replacing it in the yard.

Should I buy one track or a pair?

Pairs, unless one track was damaged early in its life. A new track opposite a 70%-worn one loads unevenly, makes the machine pull under load, and gives up 20-30% of its life.

Can I install skid steer tracks myself?

Yes. Park level, lift one side with the boom or a jack, release tension at the tensioner grease fitting (back it off - don't add grease), roll the old track off the sprocket and idler, fit the new one, re-tension to spec, lower the machine. Budget 30-60 minutes per side once you've done it. First-timers should watch a model-specific video.

What tread pattern is best for snow?

The BZ profile - its Z-pattern lugs bite and self-clean in snow and slush while staying driveway-friendly. If your machine pushes snow all winter and works dirt all summer, BZ is the year-round answer.

Do you carry tracks for mini excavators too?

Yes - we stock mini excavator tracks for Bobcat, John Deere, Kubota, Cat, and most other brands. See our Bobcat mini excavator tracks page or use the fitment selector.

Do you ship to remote areas of Canada?

Every province and territory. Remote and northern freight costs more due to carrier rates, but we don't add handling fees - the checkout quote is the actual carrier cost.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), e-Transfer, and Net 30 on approved business accounts. Ask about commercial financing for fleet orders.

My machine isn't listed. Can you still get me tracks?

Almost certainly. The brands above are our highest-volume fitments, but we can source tracks for nearly any tracked skid steer or CTL. Send your model number, serial number, and a photo of your existing track, and we'll confirm fitment the same day.
